The Brazilian Federation of Banks (FEBRABAN) is publishing its 11th consecutive annual report, based on the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). The Brazilian Federation of Banks (FEBRABAN) is publishing its 11th consecutive annual report, based on the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). The 2018 edition, based on the GRI Standards, presents indicators related to FEBRABAN alone rather than its industry. GRI 102-52  | 102-54

This edition covers FEBRABAN's performance and activities for the fiscal year from January 1 to December 31, 2018. The document covering the 2017 financial year was published in 2018. GRI 102-50  | 102-51

The alignment of the content of this report was based on topics prioritized in its 2018 Strategic Planning, which reflects the demands, challenges and expectations of the representatives of member financial institutions and matters of interest to other stakeholders. GRI 102-6  | 102-46

Highlighted among these subjects are the sector’s public image, labor relations, digital revolution impacts, banking system taxation, enhancing the credit environment, economic plans, prudential regulation, banking self-regulation, customer relations, social and environmental accountability and other relevant aspects for FEBRABAN's role in meeting the requirements of its various stakeholders (shown on Main products and services). Through its strategic areas and customer service channels, among them Contact Us (Fale Conosco) and Speak Up (Central Conte Aqui), FEBRABAN is also continuously engaging with its stakeholders to improve services and assessing the impacts on the activities of its priority users’ segment. Initially, this report presents the main highlights of the banking sector, such as data on lending operations, card transactions, funding, and investments in technology, among others.

Thereafter, this report addresses the organizational profile, governance structure and main institutional activities of the Brazilian Federation of Banks, as well as its social and environmental activities and those of FEBRABAN's Education Institute (INFI) in 2018.

In relation to the previous report, neither FEBRABAN's scope nor its material aspects and boundaries have been reformulated; nor has its organization structure or supply chain been altered. GRI 102-10  | 102-48  | 102-49
